From October 28^th to 31^st in 2015, the Sino-Korea Bilateral Workshop on “Applications of Nano Materials in the Field of Thermal Energy Regulation and Control” and the 9th “HIT - Hanyang University” Bilateral Academic Conference were successfully held in the School of Energy Science and Engineering of HIT with the substantial support of National Natural Science Foundation of China and the International Office and Graduate School of HIT.Professor KwanSoo Lee, an academician of National Academy of Sciences Republic of Korea, Associate Professor DongRip Kim, Professor Jin Yingai, the Department Head of College of Automotive Engineering, Jilin University, Professor Li Xiaoyan, the Vice President of the School of Energy and Constructional Engineering, Harbin University of Commerce, Professor Yang Longbin at Harbin Engineering University, Professor Li Jun at Northeast Forestry University, and Professor Zhao Guangbo, the President, Professor Zhang Guifen, the Party Secretary, Professor He Yurong, the Vice President, Professor Li Bingxi, the Director of the Institute of Energy and Environmental Engineering and Professor Wang Hongjie, the Director of the Institute of Fluid Machinery and Control Engineering of the School of Energy Science and Engineering, HIT, attended the opening ceremony, which was hosted by Professor He Yurong.

Professor Zhao Guangbo, the President of the School of Energy Science and Engineering, HIT gave a speech, in which he sincerely welcomed the participants to attend the Sino-Korean Bilateral Workshop and the 9th “HIT - Hanyang University” Academic Forum and wished the conference a complete success. Professor KwanSoo Lee of Korea Hanyang University expressed thanks for the warm welcome from HIT and hoped that the teachers and students of both sides could grasp academic frontiers, activate academic ideas and broaden academic horizons to continuously improve academic competences and levels through the international academic forum, with the emphasis on strengthening the cooperation and exchanges between the two universities.

This conference covered the preparation and applications of nano materials, thermal management, enhancement of heat transfer and other aspects. More than 70 teachers and students from Korea Hanyang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University, Jilin University, Harbin University of Commerce, Harbin Engineering University, Northeast Forestry University and other universities participated in the conference. There were 23 keynote speeches and special reports in total and 26 display panels posted in the conference. Moreover, the representatives participating in the conference carried out in-depth discussions and exchanges on recent research results, scientific research experience and views on hot cutting-edge topics.
