To broaden students' global perspectives, comprehensively investigate the current state and future potential of university-industry and inter-university collaborations in the energy sector, and cultivate globally competitive talent in the energy field, School of Energy Science and Engineering launched the Pioneering New Quality Productivity with Low-Carbon Path summer international program in 2025. This program adopts a domestic-international linkage model, involving visits and research at energy companies, universities, and research institutions in Singapore, Russia, South Korea, France, Australia, Sweden, and other regions. Through these activities, participants will experience diverse international cultures and gain insights into global energy frontier technologies and sustainable cooperation models.
On the afternoon of July 10, the send-off ceremony and pre-departure briefing for the Pioneering New Quality Productivity with Low-Carbon Path summer international program were held in Room 201 of the Energy Conservation Building. Zhao Yijun, Secretary of the School’s Party Committee, and Li Wei, Deputy Secretary, attended the ceremony. Counselors and student members of the practice teams participated both online and offline.
Prof. Zhao Yijun delivered a mobilization speech, emphasizing that this international program is an innovative measure to implement the New Quality Productivity development strategy and a critical step in cultivating innovative talent with a global vision in the energy sector. He encouraged students to participate with a strong sense of responsibility and mission, showcase the excellence of Chinese youth, conduct in-depth research on the latest developments in the international energy sector, learn from advanced experiences, spark ideas through cross-cultural exchanges, enhance their innovation capabilities and international competitiveness, and translate the practical outcomes into tangible contributions to the School’s disciplinary development. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong safety awareness to ensure the program is conducted in a standardized and orderly manner.
Li Wei outlined the overall arrangements for the program, highlighting its significance in broadening students’ academic horizons and promoting international exchanges. He encouraged students to actively explore cutting-edge energy technologies. During the pre-departure briefing, Li Wei set clear requirements regarding adherence to foreign affairs discipline, strengthening team discipline, and regulating personal behavior. He urged all members to fulfill their practical tasks with a high sense of responsibility, thereby accumulating valuable experience for the School’s international development.
Finally, the responsible officials specified the detailed requirements for the practice teams, including task assignments and output expectations during the program.
