On the afternoon of October 21st, 2025, the School of Energy Science and Engineering of Harbin Institute of Technology successfully held the Smart Energy and Advanced Power Session of the 23rd CONFERENCE ON INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE OF PROFESSIONALS at the Shanghai World Expo Center. This event was not only an academic gathering but also a strategic initiative to build a top-tier international expert think tank and expand a global high-level talent “pool.”
The Smart Energy and Advanced Power Session brought together over 80 participants, including academicians and experts from global research institutions such as the Russian Academy of Engineering, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Saudi Arabia), and Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (Pakistan), as well as Professor Zhao Yijun, Party Secretary of the School of Energy Science and Engineering, Professor Han Lei, Professor Lougou, faculty and student representatives, and industry delegates. The attendees engaged in in-depth discussions and intellectual exchanges on cutting-edge topics in the fields of smart energy and advanced power systems, collectively mapping out a future development blueprint for the field. Through diverse formats such as flash poster sessions, thematic reports, and physical and video releases, the sub-forum comprehensively showcased the latest research achievements in advanced power systems and energy storage technologies.
The successful hosting of this sub-forum has effectively expanded the high-level international academic exchange platform and further strengthened the School’s intellectual network and talent foundation within the global energy science and technology community. The participating experts reached multiple consensuses on key scientific issues, laying a solid foundation for future collaborations, including the establishment of joint laboratories, talent exchanges, and synergistic innovation. The School will continue to enhance the development of its international expert think tank, optimize the function of its strategic talent reservoir, and pool global wisdom to inject robust momentum into the innovation, breakthrough, and sustainable development of energy technologies.
