Faculty and Students of the SESE Travel to Russia to Attend the 2026 International Forum on Advanced Engines and Power Installations and Achieve Outstanding Competition Results

By Kong Dezhou / Photos by delegation membersFrom June 16 to 18, 2026, the 2026 International Forum on Advanced Engines and Power Plants was successfully held in Samara, Russia. The School of Energy Science and Engineering organized a delegation of faculty members and students to visit Russia for academic exchange and selected two teams to participate in the Engineering Marathon held during the same period. Through this high-level international platform, the delegation fully demonstrated the school’s research progress and phased achievements in relevant disciplinary fields.

The forum focused on frontier areas such as advanced power plants and innovative energy technologies, bringing together experts and scholars from multiple countries for in-depth discussions. During the event, the delegation systematically introduced the educational characteristics and research strengths of Harbin Institute of Technology, with a particular emphasis on the school’s latest research achievements in solar hydrogen production. The delegation also presented the school’s development philosophy of continuously promoting international academic exchange and deepening external cooperation. These achievements closely align with industry development trends and show both forward-looking research value and practical application potential, receiving wide attention and positive comments from participating experts.

The engineering competition held concurrently was highly professional, with a compact schedule and comprehensive assessment content. It placed high demands on the teams’ professional foundation, engineering thinking and collaborative ability. Facing participating teams from multiple countries, the two teams from the school remained calm, divided tasks effectively and worked closely together. They carefully analyzed the difficulties of the competition tasks, repeatedly optimized their design plans and steadily advanced through each stage of the competition. In the end, they won second place and third place respectively, fully demonstrating the solid professional competence and excellent spirit of the school’s students.

This visit effectively broadened the international vision of faculty members and students and enriched their overseas exchange experience. In the future, the School of Energy Science and Engineering will continue to promote international exchange and cooperation, actively build diversified platforms for overseas exchange and scientific innovation practice, and steadily advance the cultivation of high-level international talents.
