Faculty and Doctoral Students from the School of Energy Science and Engineering Visit European Universities for Academic Exchange

Recently, under the 2026 Outstanding Graduate Student International Exchange Program of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Associate Researchers Zhiyuan Zhao and Xin Li from the School of Energy Science and Engineering led a delegation of ten doctoral students on an academic exchange visit to Italy and Germany. The delegation visited Politecnico di Torino in Italy, the Technical University of Munich and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. During the visits, the delegation exchanged research findings and participated in academic presentations and in-depth discussions with faculty members and researchers on frontier topics, including aero-engines, low-carbon energy, high-temperature plasma, superconducting magnet technology, advanced materials, and combustion technologies, gaining insights into recent advances in these fields.

The visit was an important initiative by the School to promote organized international academic exchange and strengthen the international development of graduate education. It further enhanced academic ties with leading European universities, expanded opportunities for international cooperation in graduate education, broadened the doctoral students’ global academic perspectives, and strengthened their academic communication and innovative research capabilities. The exchange also laid a solid foundation for future international research collaboration and joint training of high-level talent, contributing to HIT’s efforts to advance its Double First-Class University development.
