To establish an exchange platform for young students in the Energy and Power engineering field, enhance their understanding of current global energy science and technology trends, grasp cutting-edge developments and critical scientific issues in the discipline, and broaden academic horizons while enriching scholarly experiences and elevating student competencies, the School of Energy Science and Engineering organized the 2024 “Smart Energy and Advanced Power” International Summer School. The closing ceremony was held on the afternoon of July 26 in Room 312 of the Energy Saving Building.
At the closing ceremony, Professor Zhao Yijun, Party Secretary of the School of Energy Science and Engineering, highly praised the students’ learning achievements and performance and congratulated them on the remarkable progress they made within a short period. He emphasized that the summer school not only provided an opportunity for academic advancement but also facilitated communication and collaboration among students, fostering their spirit of innovation and sense of teamwork. Outstanding student representatives from various disciplines shared their learning experiences and reflections. Many students expressed that the summer school broadened their academic perspectives, helped them form valuable friendships, and provided substantial gains. The closing ceremony concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, as participants said farewell, full of memories and accomplishments, expressing a strong desire to stay in touch and a hope to return to Harbin Institute of Technology to explore more academic and research opportunities.
Through this summer school, participants engaged in courses, lectures, and hands-on project work to deeply explore and discuss frontier topics in the field of energy and power engineering. This program marked the beginning of acquiring new knowledge and forging new friendships. It is believed that in the future, these students will achieve greater accomplishments in their respective fields and contribute to societal development with their knowledge and passion.
This international summer school was sponsored by the Undergraduate School of Harbin Institute of Technology and organized by the School of Energy Science and Engineering. Students participating in the program came from over 20 prestigious universities both in China and abroad, including Questrom School of Business (USA), Bauman Moscow State Technical University (Russia), Yonsei University (South Korea), National University of Science and Technology MISIS (Russia), Tomsk Polytechnic University (Russia), Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology of China, Xi’an Jiaotong University, and Shandong University.
