(Reported by Su Linjie) On May 30th, 2025, a delegation of faculty and students from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) School of Science and Engineering visited the School of Energy Science and Engineering. The delegation was led by Assistant Dean Prof. Ling Han, Student Affairs Officer Ms. Li Xuying, and Administrative Office Supervisor Mr. Li Mengyang. They were warmly received by Prof. Qi Hong, Vice Dean of the School of Energy Science and Engineering; Mr. Li Wei, Deputy Party Secretary; and professors from relevant research institutes.

At the symposium, Vice Dean Qi Hong extended a warm welcome to the CUHK-Shenzhen delegation. He emphasized that this visit serves as a valuable opportunity for both institutions to strengthen exchanges. Looking ahead, Prof. Qi proposed focusing on cutting-edge fields such as new energy power systems. He advocated establishing regular faculty/student exchange mechanisms and high-level academic collaboration platforms to jointly cultivate internationally competitive talent suited to the demands of the times and tackle key technological challenges in the energy sector.

The discussion session was lively and constructive. Faculty representatives from both sides delved into core topics including innovations in joint student training models, defining interdisciplinary research priorities, and enhancing student career development guidance. Professors Liu Guodong (Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology), Wang Hui (Institute of Carbon Neutral Energy Technology), and Zhai Ming (Institute of Energy and Environmental Engineering), along with counselor Deng Bingbing, addressed student questions and shared insights into the School's educational philosophy, research structure, and employment support systems, drawing from their respective areas of expertise.
Following the symposium, the School of Energy arranged for the visiting delegation to tour its Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Innovation Center and Drone Innovation Technology Practice Base. The delegation gained close-up exposure to the School's advanced research facilities and representative achievements, fostering a more direct and profound understanding of its research capabilities and innovative environment.

This successful visit by the CUHK-Shenzhen delegation not only deepened mutual understanding and friendship between the two schools but also laid a solid foundation for future substantive, high-level cooperation across multiple levels, including talent cultivation, research collaboration, and faculty/student exchanges. Both sides expressed their anticipation to build upon this interaction, continuously leveraging their complementary strengths to jointly contribute to serving national energy strategies and regional development needs.
