From October 23 to 27, 2025, the Fourth China-Russia Science and Technology Forum, hosted by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and co-organized by the Russian Academy of Engineering (RAE), the Federal Research Center of Problems of Chemical Physics and Medicinal Chemistry RAS (FRC PCP MC RAS), Saint Petersburg State University (SPbU), and Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), among others, was held in Harbin. The forum brought together over 240 Chinese and international experts and scholars, including more than 140 representatives from nearly 50 Russian universities and research institutions. Participants presented a total of 183 reports focusing on cutting-edge fields such as energy, aerospace, physics, and materials science.
The opening ceremony featured addresses by Shi Zhaohui, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Heilongjiang Province and Director of the Provincial Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs; Fan Feng, Vice President of HIT; and Dementev Georgii, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Engineering.
As one of the primary organizing units of HIT, the School of Energy Science and Engineering hosted the academic committee meeting of the China-Russia Joint Laboratory on Advanced Energy and Power Technology on the afternoon of October 24 at the HIT International Campus. The meeting was attended online and offline by members of the joint laboratory’s academic committee, leaders from the Department of Scientific Research Management of HIT, and key laboratory members.
The Joint Laboratory will leverage this meeting as an opportunity to closely align with the strategic development needs of China and Russia, as well as the development goals in the field of energy and power, to fully advance its high-quality construction.
