On November 26th, Zhang Guifen, the Party Secretary and Shuai Yong, the Vice-president of our school met with Professor Zhu Yonggang of Commonwealth Science and Industries Research Organization in Energy Conservation Building. Shuai Yong, the Vice-president, introduced the construction and development of HIT and our school, and Professor Zhu Yonggang presented his team’s progress in recent years.

Professor Zhu specializes in Fluid Mechanics (turbulence, multiphase flow and microfluidic)，who was graduated from Tsinghua University in 1985 and studied Turbulence Mechanics at the University of Newcastle (Australia) with renowned international Professor R.A Antonia from 1992. With a doctor degree of Turbulence Mechanics, he got employed in Commonwealth Science and Industries Research Organization in 1998. He, the Director of Fluid Mechanics Laboratory, has been focused on scientific research and application of Multiphase Flow and Microfluidic in recent years with fruitful achievements. More than 180 academic papers were published and the total number of citation of SCI is over 995.His H index reaches 17. Over the past five years, he has received more than $ 7 million in research funding and more than $ 2 million in equipment as team leader. He has also been awarded the Eureka Prize, one of Australian national High-Tech awards, by successfully developing Microfluidic Chip-based fingerprint detection of chemical nerve gas.
