On October 15-17, 2018, the First China-Russia Forum on Science and Technology was held in Harbin Institute of Technology, jointly sponsored by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs P.R. China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology P.R. China and the Russian Academy of Sciences(RAS), and co-sponsored by the Harbin Institute of Technology(HIT), the Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences (IPCP RAS) and the Lomonosov Moscow State University (LMSU). With the theme of “Scientific Intensive Technology: From Exploration to Application”, the Science and Technology Forum invited 48 academicians and experts from the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences, the Lomonosov Moscow State University and other research institutes, covering chemistry and materials, energy, aerospace, biological and electronic information, mathematics and other fields.

Mingjiu Xia, member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, Zhaohui Shi, deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of Heilongjiang Province, Yanchun He, deputy director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and Nanqi Ren, Vice President of the Harbin Institute of Technology, attended the opening ceremony and met with 8 academicians/correspondent representatives of Russian Academy of Sciences before the opening ceremony. Academician Nanqi Ren and Director of the Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds of RAS and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Muzafarov Aziz, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony as the Chinese and Russian Presidents respectively.

As the main organizer of Harbin Institute of Technology, the School of Energy Science and Engineering invited more than 30 experts related to energy and power to conduct project docking talks at Power Building 619 on the 17th. Vice President Yong Shuai hosted the discussion Dean Guangbo Zhao gave a welcome speech. Assistant Dean Guodong Liu introduced the overall teaching and research of School of Energy Science and Engineering, and thennumerical simulation and super-calculation, heat transfer and new energy, nuclear energy, power engineering, combustion science and chemical engineering, fluid dynamics and aircraft recycling were carried out in six directions of grouping docking research, and each reached a certain degree of cooperation.

Finally, the two sides discussed and drafted the memorandum of the Sino-Russian joint simulation center jointly participated by Harbin Institute of Technology and the Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences, the School of Physical and Chemical Engineering of the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Russian Ministry of Computing and Research. Vice President Nanqi Ren signed the memorandum of the joint center on behalf of Harbin Institute of Technology. The two sides intend to carry out in-depth cooperation research on parallel simulation models and algorithms, multi-phase and multi-physics heat-flow-mass transfer calculation model establishment, optimization and development on the Sino-Russian joint simulation platform.
