★ First came to HIT
At 12 o'clock on August 5, the 2018 International Summer School on Energy & International Workshop on Thermal Chemistry and Solar Energy officially began to register. The teachers and classmates who participated in the event came from all corners of the country and arrived Harbin and entered the campus of Harbin Institute of Technology.
At the time of registration, the hard-working volunteers answered questions from the students who came from afar, and led them to the dormitory personally. The joined the WeChat group to help everyone understand each other better and faster. Volunteers also introduced the food snacks and famous attractions near the school to create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, allowing the students to merge into a “big family” that unites and loves.
★ The opening ceremony was successfully held
On the morning of August 6, the opening ceremony of the 2018 International Summer School on Energy & International Workshop on Thermal Chemistry and Solar Energy was successfully held in the Activity Center 330. This summer school is hosted by the School of Energy Science and Engineering of Harbin Institute of Technology. The conference invited experts and scholars from Tel Aviv University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Georgia Institute of Technology, North China Electric Power University, Niigata University, the Australian National University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, the Weizmann Institute of Science, Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, conducting academic exchanges on international frontier issues in the fields of thermochemistry and solar science and technology
The meeting was hosted by Professor Yong Shuai, Vice President of the School of Energy, Harbin Institute of Technology. Professor Guangbo Zhao, Dean of the School of Energy attended the opening ceremony. Chief scientist of eSolar(USA), Professor Abraham Kribus of Tel Aviv University, gave a speech as a teacher representative. Professor Kribus briefly introduced the development of the solar industry and expressed his expectations for the summer school. He hoped that teachers and students would discuss issues and exchange views. The conference guest, President Guangbo Zhao, delivered an opening speech, briefly introduced the general situation of the college, and expressed his welcome to experts and students from China, Israel, Japan, Australia and other countries, wishing the summer school a successful one.
The summer school which will last for a week has attracted more than 70 students from major universities in China and other countries. The summer school aims to cultivate innovative talents with a global vision, provide opportunities for excellent students of energy science to access cutting-edge technologies and promote cooperation between experts and scholars from different regions. There will also be visits to museums, laboratories during the summer school. At the end of the opening ceremony, school leaders, experts and students from the summer school took a group photo.

★ The awarding ceremony was successfully completed.
On the morning of August 6, 2018, Professor Guangbo Zhao, Dean of the School of Energy, issued a certificate for Professor Jinyue Yan and Researcher Zhifeng Wang. Professor Jinyue Yan hoped that young people can really become interested in scientific research, study hard, seek truth from facts, and create a better future.
