The School of Energy Science and Engineering was formerly known as the Department of Power Engineering of HIT. Large-scale graduate students training began in 1978. At that time, there were Boiler Specialty, Turbine Specialty, and Pump and Hydraulic Transmission Specialty. Boiler Specialty was renamed after Thermal Energy Engineering Specialty.Turbine Specialty was renamed after Power Machinery and Engineering Specialty. The specialties of Engineering Thermophysics, Fluid Machinery and Engineering, Refrigeration and Cryogenic Engineering, and Chemical Process Machinery were successively provided. Graduate Students Training Program has been revised several times, as shown in table 1. For the sake of easy comparison, similar courses are listed in the same line. The process and characteristics of graduate students training are introduced in the following three stages.
