Between June 13 and June 17, 2019, professor Chi-Hwa Wang visited the School of Energy Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology. During the visit, professor Wang gave two talks of Conversion of Biomass and Waste Materials into Bioenergy and Valuable Resources and Gasification of Municipal Solid Waste for Energy and Environmental Applications on June 14 and June 17, 2019, respectively.

Dr. Chi-Hwa Wang is currently a professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He received his B.S. degree (Chemical Engineering) from National Taiwan University, M.S. degree (Biomedical Engineering) from Johns Hopkins University, M.A. and PhD degrees (both in Chemical Engineering) from Princeton University, respectively. He had active scientific communications with many famous universities, i.e., Cambridge University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Kyoto University, etc. His current research interests include particle technology, biomass gasification, and waste to energy and resource. He is on the editorial boards of Powder Technology (2008 - present), Advanced Powder Technology (2009 - present, also Executive Editor, 2009-2012), Applied Energy (2017 - present), and Journal of Controlled Release (2009 - present). He is currently an Executive Editor for Chemical Engineering Science (2013 - present).

Professor Wang’ talks widened the scope of the existing technologies and they gave up-to-date state of the art information and knowledge on Energy Science and Engineering, especially biomass energy. His visit at HIT not only enriches the scientific researches of the graduate students and faculty members, but also helps the internationalization of our school and university.
